CHECK THE MATH - IT IS A FLASHING RED LIGHT & SIREN

It is simple to check the premise of the presentation linked below this paragraph and to do the math - no calculator needed, just common sense.  Is it better to feel like we are a good, compassionate country as we fall into an age old trap or to honor our Founding Fathers by using the protections which they gave US and the warnings which they wrote to protect US from soft tyranny?

The promotion of dependency is an assault on America using the well intentioned, naive American as a weapon against a unique form of government.  Cloward and Piven, contributors to the Progressive strategy, suggested increasing demands upon the system to the point of creating such a financial crisis that the government can be transformed into a collective form.  We have more warning of this now than we did of the Fannie-Freddie 2008 collapse and that was predicted years before it happened.

Is The Declaration of Independence a Checklist for Today?

The Founding Fathers studied history and their insight into human frailty is the reason that they gave US the structure and warnings in their writings, should we care to read them and objectively analyze conditions today in light of their wisdom.  I also add a link to a list of the Founding Fathers, who they were and their fate, along with a slave's tribute to George Washington.  It would do some people good to check what they hear against what was real and to judge the purveyors of lies for what they are.

I put the following quotations in an order appropriate for thinking about how my references to specific portions of The Declaration of Indpendence apply to our country's direction today.

Rather than allow my point to be sidetracked into a discussion of religion's role in our development as a nation, I would ask those of you who believe otherwise to view the Judeo - Christian foundation of America as a Logical Construct and read this in light of that construct's principles.  While listening to my wife read The Declaration of Independence aloud to begin our July 4th day of gratitude for those who have paid the price in different ways for the creation and preservation of this nation, I thought about how appropriate this document is to our political conditions today.  That is the purpose of this post.

Would the Anti-Federalist papers now be seen by history to have not been heeded enough?  One final reference to clarify the purpose of this post is a paragraph from

The Federalist No. 51

The Structure of the Government Must Furnish the Proper Checks and Balances Between the Different Departments

 "But the great security against a gradual concentration of the several powers in the same department, consists in giving to those who administer each department the necessary constitutional means and personal motives to resist encroachments of the others. The provision for defense must in this, as in all other cases, be made commensurate to the danger of attack. Ambition must be made to counteract ambition. The interest of the man must be connected with the constitutional rights of the place. It may be a reflection on human nature, that such devices should be necessary to control the abuses of government. But what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself. This post asks, "How appropriate are these sections of The Declaration of Independence to today?"  I believe that Americans today ignore a duty which we have to the world. 
Why would we as a unique and exceptional country - look at our accomplishments per our time in history and the fact that the Fence Test shows that people would give up what they have and, in some cases, risk their life to get here rather than do whatever they have to to escape from here - abdicate our duty to provide an example for and assist the rest of the world being more like US than US sinking into the pool of nations unequal to US. We have, in my opinion, as our cost of admission to this incredible country, an obligation to protect the gift which we received and to pass it on to those who follow US, whether they are Americans or citizens of another nation. The American Free Enterprise system of rewarding risk and endeavor when it succeeds raises far more people to a higher standard of living than some central planner in a Collective who does not suffer the consequences of his decisions.  Private Enterprise is Self Cleansing and Government is like a Cancer if it is allowed to Grow.
A few observations in the beginning and then the appropriateness of the Declarations.

IN CONGRESS, JULY 4, 1776

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty

Are we involved in a choice between personal sovereignty and choosing to cede personal sovereignty for a caretaker - are we capable of governing ourselves or do we need a central planner to make our choices? 
 and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.  But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. — Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

Does this apply to:
1.  our border security and the Executive Branch's choice to not enforce the Federal Law.
2.  the Black Panther voter intimidation case
3.  the approval of the issuance of a $10,000 bounty for an American citizen, dead or alive - if the government didn't approve of it, they would have prosecuted those who offered it

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.
He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected, whereby the Legislative Powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.
He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.

Does this apply to: 
1.  Creating an immigration law which is more efficient and enforced so that people who want to leave their homeland for a better life in America have a clearer, more efficient system under which they are processed rather than facing the reality that illegal entry is more effective. 
2.  Opposing SB1070 - Arizona's attempt to defend its citizens because the federal government was not effective in doing so -  federal responsibilty to defend borders
 
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary Powers.
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

This was the main thing which brought the appropriateness of the Founding Father's warnings to US today:T
1.  The Obama Tax and Regulate US to Death Bill
     a.  the creation of 159 bureacracies
     b.  the creation of 47 new agencies
     c.  16,500 new IRS agents enforcing our "enjoyment of what was sold to US as a "Right"?"
     d.  20 new taxes
     e.  the creation of an immense amount of issues that create a need for the employment of attorneys and their staff as well as a tremendous amount of negotiation or litigation opportunities.  The Congress and Executive Branch did not do their job or we would not be exposed to this disasterous result.
     f.  This affects everyone from a jobseeker who is less likely to be employed in light of an employer's analysis of the cost of wages, benefits which are negotiated or enforced through regulation, cost of compliance with the government regulators and company overhead for the employer.  The wages of the employee or the cost of the goods and services must be increased to pay for the added cost imposed under this Act.
     g.  Public employment which is increased by this Act pay taxes which discounts the actual cost of wages, benefits, and overhead of management and facilities, but do not create.  Government is OVERHEAD, not PRODUCTION just as business compliance costs are not income producing, but do add to the price of the goods and services of that employer.  Public employees are paid for by COLLECTED Tax Revenue.  It takes several private enterprise employees paying taxes to support the cost = wages and overhead of one public employee.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.

1.  there is some speculation in this regard with executive order and acquisition of arms - I am not familar enough to do anything but note that as a point for another time

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power.

1.  the call for a civilian force equally well funded, armed and trained as compared to our military raised some issues in light of the history of the world post the Revolutionary War.  This redundancy which would place more control under the Executive Branch over an army is not only a waste of resources, but a step along the road paved with the mistakes of history.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
For quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
For protecting them, by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:
For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury:
For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:
For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies

1.  Do some of the above ring of AGENDA 21 or Climate Control  or the International Small Arms Treaty of the United Nations supported to a large extent by the United States of America and seeking to erode our sovereignty by having US voluntarily cede sovereignty through our agreement to these and to our reference to International Law.

1.  disparaging groups like the TEA Party with false statements while supporting OWS which obstructs business and costs municipalities money to clean up after them, inciters like Farrakhan or the New Black Panthers calling for killing white babys and the flow of white blood in the streets.  Issuing false warnings about the TEA Party and ignoring the flagrant Leftists CONDONES & SUPPORTS them. 

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

These Founding Fathers are unappreciated by many because a tyrant cannot control an educated populace.  Compare what is said by the Left to reality and judge those purveyors of fantasy for what they truly are = political insurgents on a mission to attack US from within as has been done with well intentioned people duped by those exhibiting Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry as they seek control to form a Collective Elite .

ARE WE LOSING OUR ABILITY TO PROTECT OUR FREEDOM?

We live in a complicated world with too much to do in our own lives and the politicians are making an incredible mess because we trusted them to take care of running our country. Benjamin Franklin warned US that this would happen if we allowed political office to be a paid position. There are dangers in having only those wealthy enough to support themselves have the power as well because that would give them the ability to increase their power. This is not a solution to that issue, but, rather a warning that we are giving up our ability to deal with that DANGER.


Americans became disenchanted with capitalism in the '30s and the outcome of their decision to leave a Free Enterprise America for a better life is recounted in The Foresake-An American Tragedy in Stalin's Russia. Why would we allow the power of government with the current technology to increase to the point that it could do whatever the elite wanted to do and the people became powerless?

I received an email dated 07/10/2011 which I have not been able to confirm, but it is indicative of the FCC push for control of the internet and the attack rather than debate tactics of this government. It would be far more productive to have open debates about the issues with fact checking to critique the debate at the end, not the opinion of pundants.

There are enough people aware of the Bernay's, Alinsky and Cloward-Piven tactics that the class warfare by an administration with the !HUGIST! political warchest ever funded, Hollywood production campaign, an inaugeral which was beyond imagination requiring an airport be dedicated to PRIVATE JETs for the ?poor? people who supported Obama to attend the inaugeral, the Goldman-Sachs/Fannie Mae/Gore Group joint investment in CCX, a climate gate scandal, GE receiving an EPA exemption to have an advantage over the competition, the intimidation of people investing their money for their retirement (not depending upon the government totally) being intimidated by Obama himself as well as his RAT squad (Rent A Thug)to relinquish their legal priority to name a few things.

Think about the two government recent involvements in private enterprise forcing bad business choices which weaken the business. Does this encourage a business to remain in America and employ American workers or does it clearly state that the goverment doesn't care whether they do well, much less survive, or not. The Great Depression has some examples of this same government imposition of the government mandates putting businesses into the graveyard. Policies allow or deny business to expand and employ American workers. Look at the unemployment rate over history and not that the government is not the solution. Two examples are:

1. NLRB attacking Boeing, a major American employer, to prevent their employing 2,000 workers in South Carolina in a $1,000,000,000 plant which is already built.


2. DOJ settlement with Citizens Republic Bancorp Inc which appears to be enforcement of the lending practices which resulted in the major financial disaster of 2008 by Fannie-Freddie disasterous underwriting and securitizing the loans to push the disaster off onto investors. It is also a way to extort money from private enterprise which could have been used for their expansion or improving their ratios.

The federal government is now petitioning to have these signs removed or Washington state will be denied additional monies for interstate highways.

The State of Washington replied, they will secede from the Union rather than be intimidated. These are a matter of free speech paid for by a private citizen.

It seems the Obama government uses intimidation and ignores the first amendment when they want to silence someone.

The tape linked below is a preview of an attack on the American economy starting with J P Morgan Chase in May of 2011. Has Beck been suckered or is what a lot of us have feared been better documented. One of the principles of propaganda is to deny others the ability to quote the propagandist in a lie and to mix in enough truth that people will lie to themselves. The words of this former SEIU executive fit that if this tape is real. The Pentagon report suggesting that there was a possibility of an economic terrorist attack on the American economy a few years ago might indicate that this is not the first attack on the American economy.

Beck has requested statements from the White House and FBI for his show this evening.

Then listen to those who discuss what he shows and states and it will give a clear understanding of who stands where. Note that I did not state my pre-judgement because each of us is obligated to gather information, vette it and share it with each other. By our vetting the information and sharing the results with each other we can test our analysis and tune up how we make our decisions.

WHO CARES ABOUT AMERICA'S WORKERS?

How much do we care about our fellow Americans who are out of work? We are all affected by this issue because employment produces collected tax revenue which supports public employees and pays the necessary overhead of government. I will be challenging what I believe as a Conservative who looks at this much manpower and money and wonders why they do not take all of that manpower and the money those groups control and form businesses to compete against the “Rich People” businesses one at a time which, if they are right would snowball. I am a firm believer in Hayek over Keynes and so far believe that history bears out that conclusion as I see Cuba and Russia laying off public employees. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE

American workers are still unemployed in incredibly large numbers for a long period of time inflicting:

1. decreased ability to make mortgage payments and keep their home, much less cover their cost of living

2. a lack of access to employer connected health insurance – I favor portable non-employer connected health insurance, but employer connected is immediately available

3. diminishing skills and attitude

4. lower collected tax revenue driving up national debt and jeopardizing the entitlements currently in effect

5. and certain groups are singled out

Delphi workers are shut out as UAW workers are given a Health Care Tax exemption for Cadillac Health Insurance and their pension plans are protected with tax dollars

Andrew Breitbart questioned an entire group of protestors about their level of knowledge and ended up with a discussion with two protestors at a meeting where he was scheduled to speak. He found two rational people in the group, but this points out the need to be in rational debate rather than emotional, bumper stickers types of labels. Formulating a strategy, monitoring the results and correcting course deviations is basic management and our economic strategy results without addressing things like Fannie – Freddie appear to need some tune ups.

This is a "THANK YOU!!" to our service people for putting their lives on hold and on the line without regard to a discussion of the wars in which they are involved. Leading the fight is U S Marine Gunnery Sgt Michael Burghardt, known as 'Iron Mike' or just 'Gunny'. He is on his third tour in Iraq . He had become a legend in the bomb disposal world after winning the Bronze Star for disabling 64 IEDs and destroying 1,548 pieces of ordnance during his second tour. Then, on September 19, he got blown up. He had arrived at a chaotic scene after a bomb had killed four US Marines. He chose not to wear the bulky bomb protection suit. 'You can't react to any sniper fire and you get tunnel-vision,' he explains. So, protected by just a helmet and standard-issue flak jacket, he began what bomb disposal officers term 'the longest walk', stepping gingerly into a 5 foot deep and 8 foot wide crater. The earth shifted slightly and he saw a Senao base station with a wire leading from it. He cut the wire and used his 7 inch knife to probe the ground. 'I found a piece of red detonating cord between my legs,' he says. 'That's when I knew I was screwed.' Realizing he had been sucked into a trap, Sgt Burghardt, 35, yelled at everyone to stay back. At that moment, an insurgent, probably watching through binoculars, pressed a button on his mobile phone to detonate the secondary device below the sergeant's feet 'A chill went up the back of my neck and then the bomb exploded,' he recalls. 'As I was in the air I remember thinking, 'I don't believe they got me...' I was just ticked off they were able to do it. Then I was lying on the road, not able to feel anything from the waist down.' His fellow Marines cut off his trousers to see how badly he was hurt. None could believe his legs were still there 'My dad's a Vietnam vet who's paralyzed from the waist down,' says Sgt Burghardt. 'I was lying there thinking I didn't want to be in a wheelchair next to my dad and for him to see me like that. They started to cut away my pants and I felt a rea l sharp pain and blood trickling down. Then I wiggled my toes and I thought, 'Good, I'm in business.' As a stretcher was brought over, adrenaline and anger kicked in. 'I decided to walk to the helicopter. I wasn't going to let my team-mates see me being carried away on a stretcher.' He stood and gave the insurgents who had blown him up a one-fingered salute. 'I flipped them one.. It was like, 'OK, I lost that round but I'll be back next week.' Copies of a photograph depicting his defiance, taken by Jeff Bundy for the Omaha World-Herald, adorn the walls of homes across America and that of Col John Gronski, the brigade commander in Ramadi, who has hailed the image as an exemplar of the warrior spirit. Sgt Burghardt's injuries - burns and wounds to his legs and buttocks - kept him off duty for nearly a month and could have earned him a ticket home. But, like his father - who was awarded a Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts for being wounded in action in Vietnam - he stayed in Ramadi to engage in the battle against insurgents who are forever coming up with more ingenious ways of killing Americans.

I WANT A NATIONALLY TELEVISED DEBATE - TOO MUCH DISPARITY - LET US HEAR THE TRUTH

There is no excuse for the Arizona situation to go in the direction that it is going. Government should protect US and ease our life, not make it crazy and stir up hate and discontent. If the administration cared about the actual issues they would clearly state the issues and deal with them. There is something else going on because this administration has a lot of bright people and this is a management 101 level problem.

I want to see a nationally televised debate between President Barack Obama and Governor Jan Brewer on the issues that are of concern to the administration. I would be happy with a person with authority to speak for either of them with the understanding that they are speaking absolutely for that person's position.
The way this issue has been handled by the Whitehouse is astounding to me. I would expect a leader of a country to have contacted the Governor and discussed the issues of concern. From my perspective, I, instead, see a FOCUS ON FAILURE:

1. public statements disparaging the Arizona legislature passed and Governor Brewer signed and warning of what MIGHT HAPPEN = sounds like predictions of what did not happen at Tea Party Rallys

2. a threat by the Attorney General to look into challenging Arizona protecting itself with the statute

3. failing to acknowledge Arizona's response to fears of racial profiling with HR2162 which deals with racial profiling and allows the use of a drivers license if there is a legal contact. This makes Arizona law superior to the federal law and California state statute.

4. inviting a leader of a foreign country to speak against Arizona and agreeing with him which indicates an alliance of this administration with an invading nation against a state in what was the UNITED States of America.

5. failing to recognize that the inciting rhetoric and actions adversely affects the wellfare of the Arizona population, 30% of which is of Hispanic heritage. That is discrimination against American Hispanics by their ?fellow? Americans.

The only reasons which I can imagine for keeping Governor Brewer from discussing her situation with President Obama or someone he delegates confirm my fears of this administration's intentions for America.

Governor Brewer and her legislators heard the people voicing their fears of racial profiling (30% of Arizona population is of Hispanic descent) and dealt with it by passing House Bill 2162 prohibiting racial profiling and adding the drivers license as acceptable proof of citizenship. They want to protect their borders and citizens without abusing their citizens. Rather than focus on failure, they dealt with the issue by adding a clarification that is clear and easy to understand. Any person who is arrested shall have the person's immigration status determined before the person is released. The person's immigration status shall be verified with the federal government pursuant to 8 United States code section 1373(c). A law enforcement official or agency of this state or a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state may not solely consider race, color or national origin in implementing the requirements of this subsection except to the extent permitted by the United States or Arizona Constitution. A person is presumed to not be an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States if the person provides to the law enforcement officer or agency any of the following:

1. A valid Arizona driver license.

2. A valid Arizona nonoperating identification license.

3. A valid tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification.

4. If the entity requires proof of legal presence in the United States before issuance, any valid United States federal, state or local government issued identification.

C. If an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States is convicted of a violation of state or local law, on discharge from imprisonment or on the assessment of any monetary obligation that is imposed, the United States immigration and customs enforcement or the United States customs and border protection shall be immediately notified.

D. Notwithstanding any other law, a law enforcement agency may securely transport an alien who the agency has received verification is unlawfully present in the united states and who is in the agency's custody to a federal facility in this state or to any other point of transfer into federal custody that is outside the jurisdiction of the law enforcement agency. A law enforcement agency shall obtain judicial authorization before securely transporting an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States to a point of transfer that is outside of this state.

There has been a lot of inciting rhetoric over the potential problems of this bill and there has been a video of the effect of racial profiling that this bill causes.
The misinformation counts on people looking at, but not reading the article because:
1. It is the federal government, ICE, demanding a birth certificate
2. The wife states that this has nothing to do with racial profiling and Arizona law
3. The bill does not go into effect until July 28, 2010
4. HB2162 prohibits racial profiling and allows a drivers license to be used as proof of citizenship

and the last part points out the misrepresentation in using this for a demonstration of Arizona law possibilities with HB 2162. Jackie explains, “I have his social security card as well and mine. He's legit. It's the first time it's ever happened.”

Both were born in the United States and say they are now both infuriated that keeping important documents safely at home is no longer an option.

Jackie says, “It doesn't feel like it's a good way of life, to live with fear, even though we are okay, we are legal…still have to carry documents around.”

A representative at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) returned 3TV’s calls after researching the incident and she said this was standard operating procedure.

The agents needed to verify Abdon was in the country legally and it is not uncommon to ask for someone's birth certificate.

She also said this has nothing to do with the proposed bill or racial profiling.

Their problem is with ICE, not with Arizona which offers a solution to a problem that has existed in Federal Law with no remedy for awhile. Arizona implemented their solution in response to people's concerns. That, to my way of thinking, is an example of how our employees in government should handle our issues.

Let us judge not on what might be, but rather on what is and what happens. There are activists who will try very hard to create problems and this is a hardship on Arizona law enforcement. I would like to see an additional part of the statute that makes staging an incident a felony with serious penalties. We need to take America forward and that is best done by keeping America safe and strong. We cannot do the good that we do if we do not sustain our ability to do it.
